Can’t get enough of aerial silks? For students who have advanced beyond Aerial 1 and are looking to learn new skills, or for the more experienced aerialist looking to refine and perfect your repertoire – this is the series for you! Come join us for a 10-week series of aerial dance. You will be preparing for performances for Still & Moving Center’s March 18th birthday celebration and possibly more opportunities.

Students will build upper-body and core strength, increase range of motion and flexibility, and get in tune with their creative side. The classes will focus on climbs, drops, inverts, foot locks and descents on the fabric. Other skills may be taught as students make progress. This series will focus on making aerial fabrics safe and accessible to everyone in an encouraging and fun environment.

Prerequisite: Instructor approval. Must have completed a minimum of 1 Aerial Level II committed series and/or be able to execute the Aerial Level 2 class skills. Must be comfortable with climbing, foot locks from a climb, straddle backs from a climb and supporting your own body weight for an extended amount of time.

She began dancing lyra and trapeze shortly afterwards and loves it just as much! Aerial is the perfect balance and outlet to her awesome, yet hectic architecture career.

Megan trained under Ukoyia Mastin from NECCA (New England Center for the Circus Arts) and mentored Heather Booth, original owner of Miraas Aerial studio in Boulder and lead aerial dance teacher at Still & Moving Center. Megan is a naturally gifted teacher. As an aerial teacher and practitioner, Megan is excited by the challenging journey that she plans to continue for the rest of her life. Megan loves with her students the fun, happiness and peace of aerial in a safe, positive and encouraging environment!

8 week series 

FREE for Aerial Golden Circle Members.  

Can’t get enough of aerial silks? For semi-beginners looking to improve new skills and learn more moves or for the more experienced aerialist looking to refine and perfect your repertoire – this is the series for you! Come join us for a 8-week series of aerial dance, followed by a later 7-week series. Students will build upper-body and core strength, increase range of motion and flexibility, and get in tune with their creative side. The classes will focus on climbs, inverts, foot locks and descents on the fabric. Other skills may be taught as students make progress. This series will focus on making aerial fabrics safe and accessible to everyone in an encouraging and fun environment. You will be preparing for performances for pre-Halloween (Oct 29) and Merry & Bright (Dec 18) festivities, with a possible performance for Diwali (Oct 23).

Prerequisite: Instructor approval. Must have completed six Aerial Level I classes and/or be able to execute the Aerial Level 1 class skills. Must be comfortable with climbing, foot locks from a climb, straddle backs and supporting your own body weight.

Tryouts (same day as first class):  September 6th. Will be included in pricing structure for the series, if you do not end up taking the series, the class will be treated as a drop-in for $21.

This first class will allow you to get familiar with a few basic moves that will be required for the series. This will also allow the teacher to assess your skill level and make sure you are ready and capable to perform to a skill level appropriate for the Level 2 / 2+ Dance Silks.

No drop-ins after September 6th for the first series.

To further develop your performance routines, this series will be followed by a 7 week series Nov 1 – Dec 13  for $139.

Sunday, 9:30-10:30am

 

In this 5 week series, experienced keiki aerialists will focus on choreography and sequencing, as well as furthering their current abilities. This additional attention on more advanced skills and learning routines will better prepare them for performances. Upcoming events include a Halloween event October 28 and Merry & Bright December 18, and possibly Diwali October 23.

Pre-requisite is teacher approval and at least 6 months of aerial class experience.

Participants may also stay for the Kids Aerial Level 1 class at 10:30am at half price if space allows on the day of class. So that beginners always have the opportunity to drop into the Level 1 class, Level 2 participants are not permitted to reserve space in advance for the Level 1 class. Class size will be strictly monitored.

Drop-ins not permitted, and series payment applies to this series only, not rolled forward.

This drop-in class will allow you to get familiar with a few basic moves that will be required for the series. This will also allow the teacher to assess your skill level and make sure you are ready and capable to perform to a skill level appropriate for the Level 2 Dance Silks.

Must be comfortable with climbing, foot locks and supporting your own body weight. Foot locks can be done from the ground, but we will practice working them from the air.

$160 for 8 week series. Free to Aerial Golden Circle Members who commit to attending the full series.

globe. Last winter she was in San Juan, Puerto Rico, employed as the new rig manager for Trapeze School New York, crafting shows for Bahia Urbana in Old San Juan, helping with the inaugural International Circus Festival in Puerto Rico, and plotting ways to bring Clowns Without Borders to the island. She balances out her life as a teacher, performer, director and writer with grace and dignity. She holds a BFA in theatre and education from New York University and after a brief stint as a professional tour director in New York, she discovered and fell in love with circus. This passion ignited her love of travel, and adventures in England for a whirlwind training at Circomedia in flying trapeze, aerial arts and acrobatics. Caitlyn became a roving circus vagrant, traveling the globe performing and teaching.
