Ocean Lotus Hawaii is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that has been working with Oahu’s homeless kids since 2008. OLH’s mission is to help homeless and underprivileged youth (ages 6-18) by providing them with skills and opportunities that lift their spirits and help them succeed for a chance at a better life.
Founded by Nichole Paree DeWald, this charitable group works with over 200 kids from the homeless shelters and tent areas in Kaka’ako and Waianae.
OLH offers weekly after-school activities such as tutoring, career mentoring, art, and ocean sports, including surfing and outrigger canoe paddling
Ocean Lotus Hawaii founder Nichole feels extremely happy to see that most kids in the program have been able to graduate from high school and quickly move on to college or obtain employment. She feels very fortunate to see how these kids blossom into self-sufficient, loving and hard-working adults who contribute to Hawaiian society.
Still & Moving Center will offer its Merry & Bright Holiday as a fundraiser for Ocean Lotus Hawaii this Winter Solstice, December 21st. OLH plans to use the money raised to organize two holiday activities at the end of December:one with our Waianae homeless keiki and one with our Honolulu children. Funds permitting , they will provide Christmas presents for each of these beautiful kids.
