Mondays 9:15-10:30 am (HST)
Starting March 30th, 2020
Kara’s classes are inspired by over 15 years of intensive Yoga study and practice. Although she leads a challenging class, she warmly welcomes practitioners of any level to join her in this style of movement and self study. Kara infuses the class with the light of her understanding of yoga philosophy, encouraging you to bring a bright focus to your own awareness, on the mat and into your life.
Based on the teachings of Shiva Rea, Mandala Flow Yoga is a fairly brisk yet steady, safe vinyasa flow that encompasses the entire yoga mat. You move in a circular pattern (hence the name Mandala), including side-to-side as well as front-back movement, and you experience pulsations and waves in the body. These full body movements build strength in the core and hips, ring out the spine, and help to tone the legs. This is a sequence-heavy class, meaning that many postures will be linked together. The class ends with deep floor postures, breath work and meditation. You will leave feeling lighter, supported and uplifted.
As an international master teacher offering a 75 minute class rather than Still & Moving Center’s normal 60 minutes for Vinyasa, Kara welcomes donations after class.
