In this workshop, Jerome Mester de Trevino teaches the subtle and refined communication of intentions, through the body, in the Salsa dance form. This workshop is available for all the relationship types that are a part of our daily lives. Couples, friends, work associates and family are all relationships in which communication play a major role; and this workshop is open to them all. Whether bettering the communication between partners, or just learning how to dance Salsa in a meaningful way is your goal; this workshop is for you.
The Lead/Follow relationship (which forms partnership in Salsa) demarcates masculine and feminine thought and communication processes. These relationships are used to establish a proper environment for communication that not only produces the beauty of the synchronized and rhythmical movement of Salsa but also a better understanding of the communication/intention paradigm in its everyday use. This class will not only service as a foundation for better communication between relationship halves of all types but also provides the confidence and communicative skill of a more seasoned Salsa dancer. As an international Salsa instructor, Jerome Mester de Trevino offers this class as a fundamental part of instruction to beginners and professional dancers alike; so anyone can learn!
We invite you to come and experience the vibrant culture of Salsa and leave a better communicator.
Jerome L. Mester de Trevino began his journey in dance with music as his guide. He challenges his students and partners to find their own voices within the music and to hone their skills to freely express themselves. Jerome has been a percussionist for over 25 years, but not until he immersed himself in the culture and essence of Salsa and Afro-Latin movement, did he find his path to deep self-expression. This marriage of man and art imparted a gift of healing that put him on a journey of self-discovery, aligned him with his life’s purpose and evoked new techniques and dance processes for emotional/spiritual restoration.
Mr. Mester de Trevino has taken this gift and message across America and has now returned to Hawai’i. His dedication to the relation of music to movement distinguishes him as a refined, innovative and melodic dancer. He conveys the restorative elements of movement by teaching proper communication, right relationship, and allowing the body to inform the mind.
