Step into the movement foundations of traditional Korean mask dance dramas, which are considered to be protected national treasures. Learn some of the basic regional variations of Korean mask dance. Korean dance often expresses the breath through movements, varying between lightness and heaviness. Please wear comfortable clothing.

Chang Yeol Heo

Chang is a recognized performer and certified trainer of Kosong Ogwangdae, a masked dance-drama form from the southern part of the Korean peninsula. He earned a BFA and MFA in Traditional Korean Dramatic Performing Arts at Korea National University of Arts (K’Arts), and now teaches at Seoul National University, Korea University, and K’Arts. Heo is a founder and artistic director of The Greatest Masque Company, which presents traditional Korean mask dance and music from different regions of Korea as well as creative variations; and is now pursuing a PhD.
