Take the 21 Day Art of Living Pledge and set yourself on the right track for 2018. Pledge yourself to take one class a day on any 21 days of January! We are here to support your Art of Living pattern. Live well! Live healthy! Live centered in the midst of movement! At our birthday on March 18th we will celebrate everyone’s successes – big and small! Balloons and bubbly refreshments…Prizes for those who complete all  21 days of class!

Healthy, centered living, Body, Mind and Spirit is truly an art. And like any art, practice makes perfect. Set your Art of Living practice into motion in January, and watch your entire year gain momentum. You feel better, breathe better, look better.  

Our free, January 1st Art of Living Superclass is the ideal way to commence your 21 Day Pledge to the Art of Living. Our centered and motivating movement teachers are ready to cheer you every step of the way into your new, healthy year.

Pledge takers who are not already Golden Circle members may want sign up for unlimited monthly classes here.

For every class, workshop or bodywork session that you take during the Art of Living Pledge to Health, Still & Moving Center will contribute $1 to each: Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center and Waianae Health Center. Get healthy yourself and help others get healthy!

Welcome in the New Year with 100 Minutes of the art of wholesome exercise! Rotate through 5 mindful movement practices for 20 minutes each, every one of them designed to enrich your Art of Living. Still & Moving Center is your source for mindful movement from the Dance Arts, Martial Arts and Healing Arts. Start your year with a little taste of each to see how good moving into the Art of Living can feel!

Superclass Details

Learn the art of aligning your frame while improving your flexibility and breathing through yoga. Find new healthy movement patterns with Feldenkrais that may help you reduce chronic pain. Improve your vitality and resilience while steadying your mind in KoBang Qigong. The art of finding the childlike joy of movement comes through Nia!

Satisfy your New Year’s fitness craving with Pilates or Foam Rolling. Dance – whether Samba, Belly Dance or Hula – will satiate your expressive nature. Indulge your daring self with an aerial hammock adventure – or opt for a closer-to-the-ground session.

Complete the experience with an inspirational movement session on the rooftop (wearing your socks/soft shoes) at sunset OR a heart and lung-filling Hawaiian chanting oli session with Kumu Malia.

You are marvelously complex, with many aspects of yourself that deserve attention. Some parts of you may benefit from the discipline of skilled training, other parts may thrive with the gentleness of well-informed self care-taking. You will enjoy learning something new, building on what you’ve already acquired. Part of your nature likes to draw inward for strength and calm stillness. Another part of your nature delights in the companionship and good cheer of fellow seekers of a wholesome, joyful lifestyle. You have been ‘world traveling’ all summer in our classes. Now it’s time to wrap up your Summer Passport to Health adventure/benefit with a coming-home party! Enjoy entertainment, prizes and honoring our benefit organization, Ho’Ola Na Pua.

Attention all wanna-be world travellers! Come with us on international mini-adventures at Still & Moving Center, and collect flags of the world to fill your passport! The more full your passport, the more fit you become, and the greater your contribution to special young women on this island.

For every class you take during Passport to Health, Still & Moving Center will donate $1 to Hoʻōla Nā Pua. This amazing, compassionate organization, recently featured on Hawaii Five-O, helps to heal, educate and reintegrate young girls in our community who have been the victims of sex-trafficking.

You have from 4th of July until just before Labor Day, September 3rd, to complete your world travels through our classes. Fill your passport with international flags and win tantalizing prizes…not to mention a healthier Whole You for yourself and our beneficiaries!

How You Earn Flags

You earn flags from many countries for your passport by attending classes, workshops and bodywork sessions at Still & Moving. For example: Take a little trip to India by attending a yoga or Bollywood class, and get an Indian flag! Travel to China for an hour with Kempo (Women’s Self-Defense) or to Korea for New Vitality Qigong. Earn a Brazilian flag by getting a Body Journey Therapy massage from Regina. Get a German experience doing Pilates…a taste of Russia with a Feldenkrais workshop. Take a dance class with Australian teacher Miranda to earn an Aussie flag. Journey to the Middle East with belly dance! For each country you “visit” at Still & Moving Center, you earn a flag!

 

How to Track Your Progress

Get a mini passport to begin your adventure. Write your name on it. Place your passport on our world wall map. Move your passport on the map each time you take classes from another part of the globe or another teacher!

Earn one (1) flag for each class you take. Attach each new flag you collect to your passport, forming a tail.

You can only earn one flag for one class. You either earn a flag from a country the class originates in OR you choose a flag from the country the teacher was born in.  You can earn as many flags as you want from one country. Even better, earn flags from many different countries!

There are two categories in which the adventurers compete:

1) The greatest number of flags.

2) The greatest variety of flags (also considering the overall number of flags.)

On your marks, get set, sail!

The 21 Day Whole You Challenge

What it is: Take care of the Whole You by participating in one activity per day at Still & Moving Center on any 21 days in January, 2017:

  • Classes
  • Workshops
  • Events
  • Massage
  • Private Feldenkrais session or
  • private training.

Go for variety or go for depth with your activities. Either way, the wholesome practices you participate in at Still & Center will enable you to take care for the Whole You!

Here’s why:

You are a whole body-mind-spirit being. You are marvelously complex, with many aspects of yourself that deserve attention.   5. Plan to celebrate your Pledge Completion Ceremony on Wednesday evening, February 1st when we will honor all our Pledge Participants.

Rotate through 5 mindful movement practices for 20 minutes each. You’ll have lots of classes to choose from, and every one of them is designed to enrich a different aspect of the Whole You. superclass 

Yoga will provide alignment for your bones, steadiness through your breath, calm for your mind. Tune in and tone up with Body Attunement. Our aerial faculty members Megan Rhoden, Angel DaVida and Kezia Holm , along with their students, have been working hard to create for us magnificent demonstrations of Lyra, Aerial Silks and Keiki Aerial. Light refreshments!

For your mini-adventures at Still & Moving you earn flags from many countries for your passport. Take a class with Mālia to earn a Hawaiian flag, Australian teacher Miranda to earn an Aussie flag, or from Bruno Ballestrero of Buenos Aires to score an Argentinian flag! Earn an American flag doing Nia with Krista. You could even earn an Indian flag with a massage from Jivatma!

The Living Foods Challenge is a 28 day food challenge, where you put away the packaged and convenience foods, and eat living, mostly organic, farm fresh foods for 28 days. In addition to 5 workshops, you will have access to private nutritional consultation, plus daily, one-on-one and community support.

We will test your health before and after the challenge, in terms of weight, BMI, body fat, muscle %, resting metabolism, body age, visceral fat, and antioxidant levels. Ryan is a Certified Nutritional Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. He has worked with clients one on one, with families and with groups. He created the Living Foods Challenge in hopes to reach and educate about the importance of real food, and to reconnect people with the knowledge of where their food comes from.
