with Megan Rhoden

Tuesdays, 7:15 – 8:15 pm July 28 – September 15

Performance will be on Sept.15

Class size is limited. Advanced registration for the Pre-Requistite Classes on July 14 & 21 highly recommended!

For those interested in taking the series, 2 drop-in pre-requisite classes* will be mandatory on July 14 & 21 from 7:15 – 8:15 pm (continuing students from previous May/June Series are exempt from these 2 sessions). *Aerial class pricing applies, not included in series price. This will allow you to get familiar with a few basic moves that will be required for the series. This will also allow Megan to assess your skill level and make sure you are ready and capable to perform to a skill level appropriate for the Level 2 Dance Silks.

Can’t get enough of aerial silks? For beginners looking to improve new skills and learn more moves or for the more experienced aerialist looking to refine and perfect your repertoire – this is the series for you! Come join us for a 7-week series of aerial dance. Students will build upper-body and core strength, increase range of motion and flexibility, and get in tune with their creative side. The classes will focus on climbs, inverts, foot locks and descents on the fabric.

This series will focus on making aerial fabrics safe and accessible to everyone in an encouraging and fun environment. These moves will be choreographed into a beautiful performance the students will showcase at the Fourth of July Celebration held by Still & Moving Center.

Pre requisite: Must have completed 6 Aerial Level I classes and/or be able to execute the Aerial Level 1 class skills. Instructor approval. Must be comfortable with climbing, foot locks and supporting your own body weight. Foot locks can be done from the ground, but we will practice working them from the air.

No drop-ins, series only.

Free to Aerial Golden Circle Members with commitment to attend the full series.

megan rhodenMegan has been spinning in the silks since March 2013 and hasn’t made her way down yet. She even continued her practice in Singapore during her semester abroad in school! She began dancing lyra and trapeze shortly afterwards and loves it just as much! Aerial is the perfect balance and outlet to her awesome, yet hectic architecture career.

Megan trained under Ukoyia Mastin from NECCA (New England Center for the Circus Arts) and mentored by Heather Booth, original owner of Miraas Aerial studio in Boulder and lead aerial dance teacher at Still & Moving Center. Megan is a naturally gifted teacher. As an aerial teacher and practitioner, Megan is excited by the challenging journey that she plans to continue for the rest of her life. Megan loves sharing with her students the fun, happiness and peace of aerial in a safe, positive and encouraging environment!
