Do you suffer from body pain or injuries? Does your body feel tight or imbalanced? Do you feel as if your yoga practice could be much more progressive? All of these topics and more will be discussed at this informational session on Yoga and Rolfing, also known as Structural Integration (SI). Yoga Teacher Gloria Baraquio will share how Rolfing has transformed her body and her practice. Rolfing practitioner Diane Kim will give us the history and principles of Structural Integration, focusing on anatomy and the myofascial system. Both will analyze specific yoga postures and how to bring about true alignment in the body. This talk is beneficial for anyone looking for greater ease and mobility in their body and their life and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of the body.
Diane Kim has spent extensive time in the healing arts for human beings as well as animals. Diane has long held a degree as a doctor of veterinary medicine. She was trained in 2010 at the Guild for Structural Integration where she studied with Emmett Hutchins, one of the original teachers designated by Dr. Ida P Rolf to carry on her lineage. A devoted yogi, Diane enjoys providing structural alignment and healing to all species. Her goal in life is to bring joy by facilitating a higher level of body awareness, alignment, expansion and freedom.
“If you can imagine how it feels to have a fluid, light, balanced body, free of pain, stiffness, chronic stress, at ease with itself and the earth’s gravitational field, then you will understand the goals of Structural Integration.” Ida P. Rolf, PhD
