Yoga Posture Clinic Series DESCRIPTION:with Tania Jo Ingrahm & Rupali Embry\nSign Up Now! \nA four-part series of posture clinics to help you understand any yoga pose What holds a pose together? What forces make it effortless? Where can we relax\, and where must we stay engaged? Knowing these principles of ‘right effort’ allows you to be simultaneously alive and dynamic in a yoga pose and yet expend the very least amount of energy. Together we’ll take a look at these dynamic forces within each pose and learn how to harness them to go deeper and wider. These posture clinics with Tania Ingrahm and Rupali Embry are each designed to stand alone—however you’ll get even more value by taking all four. \nSaturday\, June 14 – Standing Strong! \nIn the first session we’ll cover four of the key standing poses: tadasana (mountain pose or samasthehi)\, vira bhadrasana B (warrior B)\, trikonasana (triangle pose) and utthita parshvakonasana (extended side angle pose). By looking at the architecture of these four\, you’ll be able to apply the principles to any standing pose; however\, we’ll leave time for questions on other poses. \nSaturday\, July 12 – Achieving Lift Off! \nIn the second session\, we’ll cover arm balances and their building blocks\, including bakasana (crow)\, as well as vasisthasana (Sage Vasistha’s pose) and pincha mayurasana (peacock feather). Important elements such as strengthening exercises\, wrist stretches and key alignment tips will also be offered. Each participant will get individual assistance to access these poses in a safe and progressive way. \nSaturday\, August 9 – East Side/West Side Story \nIn the third session\, we’ll be going forward and backward with janu shirshasana (head to knee)\, upavishtakonasana (wide spread forward fold)\, ustrasana (camel) and dhanurasana (bow). If you hate these poses\, come discover a way to make them fun and productive. \nSaturday\, September 13 – A Whole New World \nIn the last session\, we’ll check out the inversions…sarvangasana (shoulderstand)\, shirsasana (headstand)\, halasana (plow) and adho mukha vrikshasana (handstand)\, along with the preparatory movements. If this class of poses terrifies you\, come face your fears!
