An Argentine Tango Milonga in the style of the 1940’s with the flavor of the 40’s. Enjoy the music and dance of Buenos Aires of the 1940’s, the Golden Age of Tango…Music by IslaTango DJ George Garcia in the Salon of the Still & Moving Center’s ballroom with the sprung, mango-wood floor. George Garcia www.islatango.com has been teaching and performing dance for more than thirty years. For the past twelve years, he has devoted his passion exclusively to the art of the Argentine Tango, studying with the tango world’s finest master teachers. He teaches and performs at various tango events in the USA and abroad and was a featured performer in the 2006 and 2007 Tango Libertad Show in Japan, and serving as a judge of the Tokyo World Tango Festival Competition. More recently, as featured instructor and performer at various tango festivals in Japan, including the first Tokyo International Tango Festival, a benefit event for the survivors of the recent earthquake and tsunami victims. George is featured in Dance Vision USA’s 20-volume Ultimate Argentine Tango Instructional DVD Series. He is a DVIDA National Examiner, the highest caliber of instructor in the USA. He is the founder of Hawaii’s Argentine Tango community. In Honolulu, he presents his innovative Argentine Tango Boot Camps, runs weekly classes, gives workshops, private lessons and organizes workshops and events with visiting celebrity instructors.
